Arbro Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Analytical Division) has been granted renewal of approval for testing food products under EIC’s Laboratory Approval Scheme. The renewal is granted by the Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
The Export Inspection Council (EIC) was set up by the Government of India under Section 3 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963). The EIC ensures the development of export trade of India through Quality Control and Inspection. EIC is empowered to notify which commodities will be subject to Quality Control and Inspection before being exported and to establish standards of quality and specify the type of Quality Control or Inspection these commodities require.
Arbro’s laboratory was assessed by the highly qualified personnel from EIC. Based on the assessments conducted, the certificate of approval was renewed for Biological and Chemical food testing within the scope of approval specified. The Approval is valid until 4th November 2017. The certificate of approval is based on EIC’s Laboratory Approval Scheme 2010.
Approval is given to laboratories that use analytical methods that meet the requirement of the importing countries through acceptable and validated methods of analysis. Accordingly, Arbro will be able to provide testing facilities for commodities for the purpose of certification of export quality commodities required for export under EIC’s schemes.
The scope of testing will be carried out for the following
- Qualitative PCR test for the detection of GMO for cotton starch, cottonseed, raw cotton fiber, groundnut, groundnut meal, lecithin, maize, miller, rice, sorghum, tea, wheat, guar churi, sesame seeds, rapeseed, soybeans and basmati rice.
- Milk and milk products
- Rice and Basmati Rice
- Honey
- Menthol (IS: 3134 – 1965)
- Guar Gum (IS: 10502 – 1993)
- Water for Processed Food Industry (IS: 4251: 1967)
- Drinking Water as per IS: 10500: 1991
