FSSAI Colour & Sweetener Limits

FSSAI Schedule I prescribes maximum limits for permitted synthetic colours (e.g., Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow) and sweeteners (saccharin, aspartame) in mithai, candies, and ice cream. Non-compliance attracts product recall and penalties under the Food Safety & Standards Act 2006.

Heavy Metals in Chocolate
