FoSTaC Food Safety Training & Certification

Auriga Research, Certification Division

The Auriga Research Certification Division is an FSSAI-recognised FoSTaC Training Partner (Registration TPAUR330/12-20), delivering Food Safety Training and Certification to supervisors and food handlers across India — Basic, Advanced, and Special category courses, on-site or as scheduled batches.

Backed by the Arbro Group's analytical heritage, with Arbro Lab operational since 1990 and Auriga Research founded in 2007, the group has held NABL accreditation continuously since 2003 without a single break.

Our trainers are FSSAI-approved food safety specialists who have worked inside catering, manufacturing, retail, and transport operations — so sessions use examples your team recognises from their own floor rather than generic theory.

Who Needs This

Six food business profiles use the Certification Division for FSSAI-mandated FoSTaC food safety training.

Food Safety Supervisors

Every FBO must have at least one trained and certified Food Safety Supervisor for every 25 food handlers. FoSTaC Advanced meets that requirement.

Catering & Hospitality Teams

Hotels, restaurants, QSR chains, cloud kitchens, institutional caterers, and airline and railway catering operators training staff to the FSSAI catering stream.

Food & Beverage Manufacturers

Packaged food, beverage, snack, sauce, and ready-to-eat manufacturers training production and QA teams to the FSSAI manufacturing stream.

Dairy & Meat Handlers

Milk, dairy, meat, and poultry businesses needing the FoSTaC special category courses written for their specific handling risks.

Food Retail & Transport Operators

Supermarkets, packaged food retail chains, cold-chain warehouses, and transport and distribution operators training staff to the relevant FSSAI stream.

FBOs Renewing an FSSAI Licence

Food businesses that need documented evidence of trained food handlers and a certified supervisor at licence application or renewal.

How It Works

Four steps from first enquiry to FSSAI-recognised FoSTaC certificates in your team's hands.

01

Tell Us Your Category and Headcount

Share your food business category, how many people need training, and at what level. Your SPOC confirms the right FoSTaC course, the fee per participant, and available dates.

02

Choose On-Site or a Scheduled Batch

Book a trainer to deliver at your premises for a full team, or take individual seats on a scheduled batch. Sessions are arranged around your shift pattern.

03

Attend the Training

An FSSAI-approved trainer delivers the course with sector-specific examples, followed by the assessment required for certification.

04

Receive FSSAI Certification

Participants who pass receive their FSSAI-recognised FoSTaC certificate, which serves as your documented evidence of trained handlers and a certified supervisor at licence renewal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is FoSTaC certification mandatory?
Yes. FSSAI mandates that every food business operator (FBO) must have at least one trained and certified Food Safety Supervisor under FoSTaC for every 25 food handlers. The requirement applies across all categories — catering, manufacturing, retail, and transport & distribution.
Which FoSTaC course does my team need?
Frontline food handlers take FoSTaC Basic. The person accountable for your food safety system takes FoSTaC Advanced, which is the course that satisfies the Food Safety Supervisor requirement. Businesses handling milk, meat, or catering at scale may also need a Special category course written for that sector. Your SPOC confirms the right combination once you share your category and headcount.
How long does FoSTaC training take?
Most FoSTaC courses run for one day, with the assessment held at the end of the session. Scheduling depends on whether you book a trainer for an on-site session at your premises or take individual seats on a scheduled batch.
Can training be delivered at our premises?
Yes. On-site delivery is available across India from Delhi, Gurugram, Bangalore, Baddi, and Bahadurgarh, and is usually the practical choice when a full team needs training around existing shift patterns. Individual seats on scheduled batches are available for smaller numbers.
What certificate do participants receive?
Participants who pass the assessment receive an FSSAI-recognised FoSTaC certificate issued under our Training Partner registration TPAUR330/12-20. It serves as documented evidence of trained food handlers and a certified Food Safety Supervisor at FSSAI licence application or renewal.
Does Auriga still offer ISO 22000 certification or FSSAI third-party audits?
No. The Certification Division now delivers FoSTaC food safety training only. Auriga Research continues to provide NABL-accredited analytical testing for food, water, and other verticals through its laboratories — see the testing services section of the site.
